For Your Football
Today at the Kids Workshop at The Home Depot you can make your own football display stand, since I’m sure your football is just laying on a shelf somewhere. Now your kids can make a stand to display it on. Come to Home Depot between 9 and noon, but I would suggest getting there early since they have been known to run out of craft kits.
Mama’s Movie Night
Mama Mia will be showing tonight at the Capitola Beach for free. Come and grab a spot on the beach with your family and enjoy this fun movie together. The movie starts at 7:30 or dusk.
Hot Rods & Kids
Ocean Honda is hosting Hot Rods For Kids today from 9am – 7pm. If you are a car lover then you won’t want to miss this fun event. There will be a fund-raising raffle and the winner can drive away in a new convertible.
Dora’s Fiesta
Come and party with Dora at the Capitola Mall today at Dora’s Mexican Fiesta. There will be crafts, a puppet show, games and more. The fiesta starts at 3:30 so come early and make your maraca’s to help you celebrate.
Movie Night on the Beach
Come down to Capitola Beach tonight and enjoy a free showing of Beetlejuice. The movie will begin at 7:30 or dusk.
- Friday, Sep 10 Get Your Greek On
- Saturday, Sep 11 Ohlone Day
- Saturday, Sep 25 Get Up and Dance
Coming Soon...
Get Your Greek On
The Greek Festival is back in Santa Cruz this weekend. This festival is a favorite for locals and lasts for 3 days. This year it will be held on Church street between Cedar and Center. Today the festival will be going from 10am-5pm, tomorrow from 11am-10pm and Sunday from noon – 10pm. This gives you plenty of time to go back and enjoy different food and listen to some of the best Greek music around.
Ohlone Day
It’s Ohlone Day at Henry Cowell State Park today. Come and learn more about the history of the Ohlone people and all that they meant for this area. You will be able to learn how the Ohlone people made baskets, tools, soap and more. You will even have the chance to try out some of those great crafts yourself throughout the day between 10am and 4pm.
Get Up and Dance
It’s time again for the Santa Cruz Ethnic Dance Festival. This is a 2 day festival running today and tomorrow. There will be a wonderful variety of dances from regions all over the world for you to enjoy and even participate in. You will even have the chance to join in a free dance class. There will be a variety of classes held throughout the day. Come to the Mission Plaza Park and get ready to enjoy this great art form.
