Today is the first Saturday of the month so don’t forget to head over to your local Home Depot with your 5-12 year old and participate in the Kids Workshops. Kids have so much fun making something they can take home, they also get a orange apron and a pin to show which workshops they have attended, and you will love it because it is free. This runs from 9am – noon, and I suggest you try to get their early as they might run out of projects as the day goes on.

If you love strawberries like I do then head down to The 15th Annual Strawberry Festival in downtown Watsonville. This fun filled event will be running from 10am – 7pm and it is not to be missed. Go enjoy this free event with arts, crafts, music, delicious food and more.

36th Annual Roughwater Swim around the wharf in Santa cruz is today. It starts and finishes on the main beach in Santa Cruz. This is a fun event to participate in or just to watch and cheer on the swimmers. The swim will start at 11am but be sure to get there early for this popular event.

Scotts Valley Sports Center offers a Free Hockey Class to children 12 and under. This is a fun time for your kids to get familiar with roller hockey, learn about the rules and the fun of the game. Class starts at 4pm but show up a little early if you need to borrow gear. For more info call 430-0939.
